Yardage Calculator Guide

The Yardage Calculator helps you determine exactly how much fabric to order for any upholstery project.


How to use it:

  • Select the furniture type (sofa, chair, ottoman, etc.)
  • Enter the dimensions (length, depth, height)
  • Specify number of cushions and cushion style
  • Enter the fabric width (standard is 54 inches)
  • Add pattern repeat if using a patterned fabric
  • Click Calculate to see your yardage estimate

  • Base yardage: Minimum fabric needed without waste
  • Pattern waste: Extra fabric needed for pattern matching
  • Recommended order: Total including a 10-15% waste buffer

    • Pro tips:

  • Always round up to the next half-yard when ordering
  • Large pattern repeats (27+ inches) can add 20-30% more fabric
  • Narrow fabrics (48 inches) require significantly more yardage than standard 54-inch
